Frequently Asked Questions
Product Quality & Materials
1. What types of solid wood do you use in your furniture?
We primarily use high-grade solid woods such as Oak, Walnut, and Teak, known for their durability and beautiful grain patterns. These materials are ethically sourced and selected to ensure long-lasting quality for luxury Singaporean homes.
2. Is the furniture at Home of Homes treated for Singapore’s humidity?
Yes, all our wood furniture undergoes a professional kiln-drying process to reach the ideal moisture content. This treatment prevents warping, cracking, and rotting, making our pieces highly resilient to Singapore’s tropical climate.
3. What is the difference between solid wood and MDF furniture?
Solid wood is composed of natural lumber, offering superior strength and the ability to be refinished over time. In contrast, MDF is an engineered wood product that lacks the longevity and unique natural character found in our authentic wood collections.
4. Do your products come with a warranty?
Yes, Home of Homes provides a structural warranty on our furniture pieces. We stand behind our craftsmanship and materials to ensure our customers enjoy peace of mind with every purchase.
5. How should I maintain my solid wood dining table?
To maintain your table, wipe it with a soft, dry cloth and avoid harsh chemicals. We recommend using coasters and placemats to protect the finish from heat and moisture, ensuring the wood stays beautiful for years.
6. Are the fabrics used in your sofas durable and easy to clean?
Our sofas feature premium upholstery, including high-performance fabrics and top-grain leathers. Many of our fabric options are chosen for their Martindale rub count (durability) and ease of maintenance for busy households.
7. What makes “European-inspired” design unique at Home of Homes?
Our designs blend the ornate elegance of European traditions, like Modern Victorian, with contemporary functionality. This results in furniture that feels like a timeless piece of art while remaining practical for modern living.
8. Do you use eco-friendly finishes on your furniture?
Yes, we prioritize the use of non-toxic, low-VOC finishes and oils. This ensures that our furniture is safe for your family and pets while minimizing the environmental impact.
9. How do I protect my leather furniture from cracking?
We recommend keeping leather furniture away from direct sunlight and air conditioning vents. Periodically applying a high-quality leather conditioner will keep the material supple and prevent it from drying out in Singapore’s environment.
10. Are the mattresses you carry, like Slumberland, authentic?
Absolutely. Home of Homes is an authorized partner for premium brands like Slumberland and De’Longhi. We offer authentic, high-performance mattresses designed with advanced pocket spring technology for ultimate comfort.
Space Solutions (HDB & Condo Trends)
1. What are the best dining table shapes for small HDB flats?
Round or extendable rectangular tables are ideal for HDB layouts. Round tables soften the room’s edges and improve flow, while extendable tables provide flexibility for hosting without permanently occupying floor space.
2. How can I achieve a Modern Victorian look in a modern condo?
Focus on “statement pieces” such as an intricately carved solid wood sideboard or a tufted sofa. By pairing these with neutral walls and minimalist accents, you create a sophisticated Modern Victorian aesthetic that doesn’t overwhelm the space.
3. Do you offer extendable dining tables for large families?
Yes, we offer a variety of extendable dining tables that can easily transition from a 4-seater to an 8 or 10-seater. These are perfect for Singaporean homeowners who enjoy hosting festive gatherings.
4. What size sofa is best for a 3-bedroom HDB living room?
A 2.5-seater or a compact L-shaped sofa is usually the best fit. These sizes provide ample seating while leaving enough “breathable” space for walkways and side tables.
5. How can I make a small living room feel larger?
Use furniture with exposed legs to create a sense of openness and incorporate large mirrors to reflect light. Choosing “slim-profile” furniture from our collection helps maintain functionality without visual clutter.
6. Do you provide custom carpentry services in Singapore?
Yes, Home of Homes offers bespoke carpentry for built-in wardrobes, kitchen cabinets, and feature walls. Our team works closely with you to maximize storage in even the tightest Singaporean floor plans.
7. What are the trending interior colors for 2026?
We are seeing a shift toward “Warm Neutrals” and “Earth Tones” like sage green and terracotta. These colors pair beautifully with our solid wood furniture to create a calming, organic home environment.
8. How do I choose a bed frame with storage for a small bedroom?
Look for hydraulic lift-up beds or frames with built-in drawers. Our storage bed designs provide a hidden compartment for linens and luggage, keeping your bedroom tidy and organized.
9. Can your furniture be customized to specific dimensions?
Many of our pieces can be tailored in terms of size, fabric, or wood finish. Visit our showroom to discuss customization options that fit your specific architectural requirements.
10. How do I style a small balcony or “alfresco” area?
Opt for foldable wooden bistro sets or slim outdoor benches. Adding vertical greenery and durable, weather-resistant furniture can turn a small balcony into a luxury relaxation spot.

Specialized Collections (British Colonial & Modern Victorian)
1. What defines the British Colonial furniture style at Home of Homes?
Our British Colonial range is characterized by the use of dark, rich solid woods like mahogany or teak, paired with light, airy elements such as rattan or light-colored upholstery.
It reflects a sophisticated blend of traditional European silhouettes with tropical materials.
2. Is British Colonial furniture suitable for modern Singapore apartments?
Yes, it is highly versatile. The contrast between dark wood and light textures creates a “resort-style” luxury that brings a sense of calm and openness to modern HDBs and Condos.
3. What are the key materials used in the British Colonial collection?
We prioritize high-quality solid wood frames, often accented with hand-woven rattan, brass hardware, and premium linens to maintain the authentic 19th-century aesthetic.
4. How do I style a British Colonial living room without it looking “old”?
The trick is to mix the dark wood pieces with plenty of greenery (indoor plants) and minimalist, neutral-colored walls. This keeps the look fresh, organic, and modern.
5. Are the rattan elements in this collection durable?
Absolutely. We use high-grade natural rattan that is professionally treated to resist sagging and wear, ensuring it remains both functional and beautiful in our humid climate.
6. What makes the new Toulon Collection a “Modern Victorian” masterpiece?
The Toulon Collection features the grand, ornate carvings typical of the Victorian era but updated with cleaner lines and contemporary finishes. It offers the “royalty” feel of classic furniture without the excessive bulk.
7. Is the Toulon Collection made from solid wood?
Yes, the Toulon range is crafted from premium solid wood, ensuring that every intricate carving and curved leg is structurally sound and built to last for generations.
8. Can I customize the fabric or finish of the Toulon Modern Victorian pieces?
We offer various customization options for our signature ranges. Please visit our showroom to see the available fabric swatches and wood stains that can be tailored to your interior palette.
9. How does Modern Victorian furniture fit into a minimalist home?
The Toulon range acts as a “Statement Piece.” By placing one Modern Victorian item like a dining table or a sideboard in a minimalist room, you create a high-contrast, luxury focal point that anchors the entire space.
10. What kind of maintenance is required for the intricate carvings in the Toulon range?
Because we use high-quality finishes, a simple dusting with a soft, dry brush or microfiber cloth is usually enough to keep the carvings clean. Avoid using wet cloths in the deep grooves to preserve the wood’s integrity.
